In Apteve, you can either do a full site publish or publish individual pages to either staging or live.

Staging is essentially a preview of your site that only an Apteve user from Venn or your company can access.

Live is the physical version of your website that anyone can access.

You would need to do a full site publish if you made a change to a global module – a module that appears on multiple pages displaying the same content. An example of this would be, if you added a new page to the navigation and footer.

Alternatively, you only need to publish individual pages if you have made a change to a specific page that is not a global module. For example, you change some text or add a photo to a specific page and intend  that text or photo to only appear on that specific page and no where else on the site. Another example, if you create a new blog post you would only need to publish the blog page.

How to do a full site publish

First click Publish Site on the left side of Apteve.

Once you click Publish Site you will see the options to publish the whole site to staging or to live.

Tick the Publish to STAGING? box to publish the whole site to staging or tick the Publish To LIVE? box to publish the whole site to live. Ignore the Full Refresh box.

Note: Always publish to staging before publishing to live. This will allow you to check if the changes you’ve made look correct or if more amendments need to be made.

Finally click Publish Whole Site Now! to publish the whole site. This may take some time depending on how many changes you’ve made.

Once you see Build Completed Successfully at the bottom of your screen, this indicates that the site has finished publishing.

How to publish individual pages

Firstly, make sure you're on the page in Apteve you wish to publish. For example, if you intend to publish your blog page but are on the home page in Apteve, then clicking the green or purple publish buttons at the top of Apteve would publish your home page and not your blog page.

Note: Always publish to staging before publishing to live. This will allow you to check if the changes you’ve made look correct or if more amendments need to be made.

To publish an individual page, simply click on either the green or purple buttons located at the top of each page, depending on whether you intend to Publish to Staging or Publish to Live.

After you have clicked either Publish to Staging or Publish to Live it may take a few minutes to publish. Once you see Build Completed Successfully at the bottom of your screen, this indicates that the page has finished publishing.

If you are working on desktop, the staging link will be located in the bottom left corner of Apteve. Above staging there is also a link to the live site.
